Your Mission: Build a Robust and Scalable Platform

As a key individual contributor, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, applying your expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to create a seamless experience for our millions of users. You will be working closely with the team to improve upon current processes, and contribute to the design.

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our core cloud infrastructure and SRE practices.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize our cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation tools.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to embed SRE principles into the software development lifecycle.
• Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for comprehensive system visibility.
• Participate in incident response, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to blameless postmortems.
• Identify and implement architectural improvements to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Automate operational tasks and processes to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to improve our operational posture and efficiency.
• Enhance existing services and applications to increase availability, reliability, and scalability in a microservices environment.
• Build and improve engineering tooling, processes, and standards for faster and more reliable application delivery.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

We’re looking for a seasoned engineer with a proven track record of success in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable systems. You should be passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Operations, or a similar role.
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable systems in a public cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Strong proficiency with IaC tools, particularly Terraform.
• Demonstrated experience in automating operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
• Expertise in designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Solid understanding of incident response best practices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for identifying and implementing improvements in system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Bonus Points

These skills are not required, but a definite plus!

• Experience with payments infrastructure or other high-volume transactional systems.
• Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Compensation and Our Commitment to Fairness

Greenlight offers a competitive compensation package aligned with market standards, experience, and skill set. This includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, and 401K match. We conduct regular compensation evaluations to ensure our pay remains competitive and equitable.

Estimated Base Pay Range:

• (NY, CA, WA): $152,000 – $185,000
• (CO): $152,000 – $177,000
