Job Opportunity: Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Join our dynamic finance team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of Life360! We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead strategic financial initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and support our continued growth. This is a fully remote position based in the US.
The salary range for this US-based position is $292,427 to $368,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined by the candidate’s background, experience, geographic location, job-related knowledge and skills. Our comprehensive compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Financial Analysis: Collaborate with executive leadership and budget owners to provide insightful operational analysis, reporting, and long-term strategic alignment. (15%)
- Data Warehouse Management: Oversee the implementation and optimization of a sophisticated cloud data warehouse for financial data analytics and reporting. (10%)
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage the data team to ensure data architecture and reporting processes meet regulatory requirements, bolstering audit readiness and compliance. (8%)
- Advanced Data Modeling: Supervise the development of sophisticated data models that support US GAAP compliant financial reporting and streamline SEC compliance. (13%)
- Team Building & Scaling: Build and scale corporate and business unit finance teams to support operational execution, accurate forecasting cycles, variance analysis, and risk identification. (20%)
- Investor Relations: Support investor relations for both US and Australian investors, including engagement with analysts, reporting, and market outreach. (3%)
- Strategic Project Management: Drive strategic financial analyses and projects that support senior management and critical business decisions. (5%)
- Corporate Development: Support corporate development activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and financing initiatives. (5%)
- Month-End Close Support: Partner with the accounting team during month-end close cycles to ensure reporting accuracy and performance vs. plan analysis. (3%)
- External Communication Support: Manage key deliverables and support senior management in preparing external communications. (2%)
- Data Architecture Advisory: Advise on designing and managing complex data architecture within the cloud data warehouse. (4%)
- Business Intelligence Delivery: Enable data-driven decision-making by delivering comprehensive business intelligence solutions. (4%)
- Financial Insights and Modeling: Enhance financial decision-making through data analysis, predictive modeling, and insights that support strategic initiatives. (5%)
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of financial acumen, leadership skills, and a passion for driving impactful change within a fast-paced environment. You should have experience with the following:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with NetSuite, Adaptive, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with investment banks in both the US and Australia.
- Proven ability to design and construct complex financial models for analyzing operating performance and transactions.
- Experience with M&A and financing transactions.
- Proficiency in embedding data sets and presentations with PowerPoint.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables and linking to other modeling tools.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and with senior executives.
- Experience in integration with Adaptive and Causal, and interaction of these tools with NetSuite.
- Experience with Databricks and Tableau
- Experience integrating ERP and modeling tools with data warehouse applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, including experience engaging with Australian and US investors and analysts.
- Deep understanding of the Australian capital and regulatory environment (ASX Listing Rules, ASIC regulations, etc.) and US capital markets.
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Financial Manager/Lead or similar role.
