The Opportunity: eCommerce & DTC Marketing Copywriter

As our eCommerce & DTC Marketing Copywriter, you’ll be a vital part of our core marketing team, supporting our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and eCommerce functions. Your primary focus will be creating compelling and effective copy across various digital channels to drive customer acquisition, boost retention, and maximize revenue.

What You’ll Do: Your Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Marketing Copy: Craft high-converting ad copy for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), Google Ads, and display ads, focusing on ROI and customer acquisition.
  • Email & Retention Marketing: Develop engaging email campaigns, including welcome series, abandoned cart reminders, post-purchase sequences, and loyalty program updates, to enhance customer lifetime value.
  • SMS Marketing: Write concise and action-oriented SMS campaigns that drive immediate engagement and conversions.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Create persuasive copy for seasonal promotions, product launches, flash sales, and limited-time offers across all marketing channels.
  • Product Descriptions: Develop compelling product descriptions that highlight key benefits, address customer pain points, and inspire purchase decisions.
  • Landing Page Copy: Optimize landing page copy to align with campaign objectives and maximize conversion rates.
  • A/B Testing: Conduct A/B tests on copy variations, analyze performance data, and iterate to improve results.
  • Brand Voice: Maintain a consistent and engaging brand voice across all customer touchpoints, adapting tone to suit different channels and audiences.

What You Bring: Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of copywriting experience with a strong focus on eCommerce and DTC brands.
  • Proven expertise in performance marketing copy with demonstrable results in ROAS improvement.
  • Strong background in retention marketing, including email marketing automation and customer lifecycle campaigns.
  • Experience with SMS marketing campaigns and best practices for mobile-first copy.
  • A portfolio showcasing successful promotional campaigns that drove significant revenue growth.
  • A strong understanding of consumer psychology and persuasion techniques; insights from behavioral science are a plus.
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret analytics and adjust copy strategy accordingly.
  • Experience with A/B testing methodologies and conversion rate optimization.

Bonus Points: Preferred Qualifications

  • Health and wellness industry experience, particularly in dietary supplements, vitamins, or nutraceuticals.
  • General understanding of FDA regulations and compliance requirements for health-related marketing claims.
  • Experience writing for subscription-based business models.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for eCommerce content.
  • Experience with user-generated content campaigns and influencer marketing copy.

Skills That Set You Apart: Additional Skills

  • DTC Marketing: Proven ability to drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth through direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing strategies across digital channels.
  • Customer Journey Mapping: Understanding the full customer lifecycle from awareness to advocacy.
  • Conversion Copywriting: Expertise in direct response copywriting principles and frameworks (AIDA, PAS, etc.).
  • Multi-Channel Integration: Ability to create a consistent brand message across email, SMS, social media, and web.
  • Personalization & Segmentation: Experience crafting targeted messages for different customer segments.
  • Mobile Optimization: Understanding of mobile-first copy requirements and character limitations.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 USD, commensurate with experience, role classification, and location. We also offer a competitive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth.

Work Location & Collaboration

This is a fully remote position. BiOptimizers embraces a globally distributed team and supports flexible work arrangements across time zones.
