Join Our Team as a Staff Data Scientist: Machine Learning Focus

Are you a data-driven innovator passionate about machine learning and personalization? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to make a tangible impact on the way people discover delicious food? CookUnity is seeking an experienced Staff Data Scientist to help us revolutionize the personalized meal recommendation experience for our customers.

What You’ll Do: Crafting Personalized Culinary Experiences

* Design, develop, and deploy production-grade recommendation and personalization systems, including user modeling, ranking algorithms, and embeddings, from inception to implementation.

* Leverage A/B testing, experimentation design, causal inference, and lift analyses to quantify and optimize the business impact of your work.

* Translate complex product and business needs into effective, data-driven solutions that can scale with our rapidly growing customer base.

* Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to integrate experimentation and feedback loops into our daily workflows.

* Mentor and coach other data scientists, sharing best practices in ML model validation, experimentation, and scalability.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

* You have 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics.

* You have deep, hands-on experience building recommendation engines, personalization pipelines, ranking/relevance models, search optimization solutions, or embedding-based features.

* You possess a strong understanding of A/B testing frameworks, and proficiency in experimentation design, causal inference, and measuring incremental impact.

* You’re proficient in Python and SQL, and ideally have experience with Snowflake, PyTorch, Airflow, MLFlow, or ECS.

* You have a proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and guide stakeholders, while also taking ownership of the technical end-to-end performance of your models.

* Bonus points if you’ve worked in marketplaces, subscription services, food-tech, or related industries!

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $190,000 – $200,000 USD. All final pay rates are determined by experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
