About the Role

As a Patient Account Services Specialist, you’ll be a dedicated advocate for our patients, embodying our “Putting People First” philosophy. You’ll take a proactive, hands-on approach to guide individuals through the often-complex world of healthcare billing and reimbursement. This remote role offers a flexible work schedule within the hours of 8:00am–8:00pm EST (Monday–Friday) to meet business needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Gain a deep understanding of CVS Specialty’s processes and how customer service impacts the patient experience.
• Guide patients through complex billing and reimbursement processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with patients through meaningful and empathetic conversations.
• Effectively manage challenging or emotionally charged situations, demonstrating empathy and a sense of urgency.
• Accurately and consistently document all patient interactions within our revenue cycle systems.
• Meticulously record, review, and follow up on patient concerns to ensure resolution.
• Gather and analyze patient information to determine eligibility for payment plan options.
• Meet or exceed call center metrics related to call volume and quality.
• Utilize technology to effectively communicate with other departments within CVS Specialty.
• Project an outgoing, enthusiastic, professional, and caring demeanor over the phone.

What You’ll Bring:

• 6+ months of experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement, collections, and/or infusion services.
• Proficiency with computers, including 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal customer service skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A genuine capacity for empathy and emotional support.

Bonus Points:

• 1+ year of experience in healthcare billing, collections, and/or infusion services (preferred).
• 1+ year of experience in pharmacy billing and reimbursement (preferred).
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.
