Shape the Future of Connectivity: Join Ciena’s Services PLM Team!

Are you passionate about driving innovation and enabling global capabilities in the dynamic world of telecommunications? Ciena is looking for a talented and driven Specialist, Product Line Management to join our Services PLM team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of maximizing opportunities in the implementation and migration space, shaping the future of how our customers connect.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be a key point of contact for day-to-day portfolio inquiries and provide crucial support for RFP responses.
  • Spearhead the development, tracking, and management of compelling offers and service “kits” through our New Service Introduction (NSI) process.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to craft engaging sales enablement materials and customer awareness strategies.
  • Dive deep into KPI analysis, comparing our performance against industry benchmarks and assessing competitive offerings to identify areas for growth.
  • Champion sales enablement initiatives, empowering our field teams to drive adoption of targeted offers.
  • Fuel our Offer Innovation process by evaluating portfolio opportunities, contributing to pricing strategies, identifying cost-saving measures, and staying ahead of key market trends.
  • Represent the services portfolio during product release calls, ensuring seamless alignment with new product launches.
  • Actively capture customer requirements from delivery organizations, sales teams, and other vital sources, translating them into actionable service roadmap plans.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration (preferred), or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across product management, engineering, sales, and our customers.
  • A strategic mindset, combined with a creative approach to problem-solving and strong business acumen.
  • Solid knowledge of Service Provider core networks and their underlying business models.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • A keen awareness of customer timelines and the flexibility to adapt to varying time zone differences.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel (less than 20%).

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with Ciena technologies such as RLS, Waveserver, 6500, Packet Networking, and Navigator.
  • Experience in delivering services within the telecommunications domain.
  • Exposure to industry benchmarks and competitive analysis methodologies.
  • A background in developing and promoting new services and capabilities.
  • A solid understanding of pricing strategies and market inflection points.
  • Knowledge of KPI development and tracking methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical and presentation skills.
