Our Clients is seeking a dynamic Cloud Operations Manager to lead and grow our talented team in Ireland. This is an incredible opportunity to join a rapidly expanding organization and play a key role in building and maintaining highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across various environments, including public, private, and edge clouds.

What You’ll Do:

As a Cloud Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and expand the Cloud Operations team in our Ireland office.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Middleware Services Optimization: Manage and optimize critical middleware services such as PostgreSQL, Ignite, Redis, Elasticsearch, Flink, ClickHouseDB, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
  • Production Incident Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues during EU daytime hours, driving timely resolution and conducting thorough root cause analysis.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Support, Development, and QA teams to resolve customer-reported issues and production incidents effectively.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance on cloud infrastructure design, performance tuning, and operational improvements.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all production operations adhere to stringent security and compliance standards, including ISO 27001, 27017, 27701, SOC 2, StateRAMP, and FedRAMP.
  • Service Review & Deployment: Review new service designs and deployments to guarantee security and compliance before they are rolled out to production.
  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with remote teams in the US, Canada, China, and India to provide continuous 24×7 cloud service operations.
  • Talent Development: Scale the Cloud Operations team by fostering the growth of domain experts and future leaders.
  • Performance Analysis & Improvement: Analyze service performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategic improvement plans.
  • Automation & Tooling: Enhance service availability, scalability, and monitoring through automation, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Foster seamless cross-regional collaboration to maintain operational excellence across all time zones.

What You’ll Bring:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: BS level technical degree is required; Computer Science or Engineering background is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role and 5+ years of experience in a management role.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to drive toward big-picture goals while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Cloud Architecture Expertise: Proven experience architecting infrastructure for highly available, highly scalable cloud services.
  • Cloud Platform Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS or any other major public cloud platform (Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Technical Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Linux, security, and networking principles.
  • Containerization Knowledge: Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Automation Skills: Working knowledge of deployment automation development (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving complex application problems.
  • Middleware Expertise: Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ignite and RabbitMQ.
  • Monitoring Tools Proficiency: Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus).
  • Security & Compliance Implementation: Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation.
  • Accountability & Responsibility: Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work, both individually and at a team level.
  • Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.
