The Opportunity: Head of Finance at AirGarage
As our first Head of Finance, you’ll be the driving force behind building a high-impact finance function. You’ll work closely with our founders and leadership team to shape our strategic planning and execution as we grow. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own our financial model, analyze unit economics, and upgrade our systems to support rapid scaling.

What You’ll Do: Driving Financial Strategy and Growth
- Own the Financial Model: Develop and maintain a forward-looking, driver-based model that accurately reflects our business.
- Master Unit Economics: Track and improve margins across locations, segments, and cohorts.
- Transform Data into Decisions: Build insightful dashboards for key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Upgrade the Finance Stack: Lead the transition to a scalable ERP system.
- Manage Equity Operations: Oversee cap table management, option grants, and investor relations.
- Ensure Investor Readiness: Maintain a clean data room and provide consistent reporting.
- Optimize Vendor Spend: Identify cost-saving opportunities and standardize commercial terms.
- Collaborate on Compensation: Partner on comp philosophy, leveling frameworks, and headcount planning.
- Provide Legal and G&A Support: Coordinate contract review, insurance, and office operations.
- Plan Capital Strategy: Manage cash forecasts, evaluate debt options, and cultivate banking relationships.
- Create Leverage: Build decision frameworks that empower teams to make informed choices.
What You Need: Skills and Experience for Success
- Built-From-Scratch Experience: You’ve been a key finance leader in a high-growth company.
- Hands-On Operator: You’re comfortable with both strategic thinking and detailed execution.
- Modeling and Judgment: You have strong modeling skills and sound business judgment.
- Systems and Process Builder: You have experience implementing ERP systems and streamlining financial processes.
- Story and Numbers: You’re a clear communicator who can translate complex data into compelling narratives.
- Commercial Acumen: You’re skilled at reviewing contracts and negotiating vendor terms.
- People Partnership: You have experience supporting compensation design and workforce planning.
- Bias for Action: You’re a results-oriented problem solver who moves quickly and improves systems.
Bonus points: Multi-location or revenue-share business experience, familiarity with hardware or inventory, and experience with legal/G&A functions.

Important Note: Remote Work and Travel Expectations
AirGarage is a remote-first company, but we also value in-person collaboration. Team members should expect approximately 6 weeks of travel per year for company offsites, location launches, and onboarding sessions.
