What You’ll Bring to the Table

We’re looking for an engineer who’s not just proficient in code, but also deeply invested in the tools, documentation, and overall ecosystem that enables great products. Key attributes include:

• Strong Coding Skills: Proficiency in Golang is essential.
• Problem-Solving Prowess: A genuine enthusiasm for tackling complex engineering challenges.
• Systems Thinking: A foundational understanding of systems architecture, including concepts like routing, load balancing, and file system structures. Hands-on experience is a plus, but curiosity and a systems-level perspective are key.
• Effective Communication: The ability to articulate your ideas clearly and confidently, even when it means admitting you don’t know something. We value honesty and a willingness to learn.
• Cloud-Native Experience: Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Service Meshes, and Distributed Tracing.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of programmable infrastructure. You will:

• Define and Build Features: Own the entire lifecycle of new features, from initial concept to implementation and user impact.
• Code in Golang: Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code in Golang.
• Embrace Cloud-Native Technologies: Leverage Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and other cloud-native tools to build and deploy our platform.
• Work with Cloud Platforms: Interact with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (experience is a plus, but not required).
• Collaborate with Distributed Teams: Work asynchronously with distributed teams using tools like GitHub and Slack. “GitHub issues” will be your primary tool for project management.
• Potentially Contribute to Open Source: Have the opportunity to work on open-source projects and present your work at conferences and meetups.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with 9+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
