Your Day-to-Day: A Blend of Leadership and Hands-On Development

As an Engineering Team Lead at Amount, you’ll be a key player in shaping our technology and guiding a talented team. You’ll balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, ensuring our fintech solutions are performant, scalable, and secure. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:

• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to define goals and priorities.
• Develop responsive, high-quality user experiences with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Drive back-end integrations and services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Guide a team of 5+ engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and make architectural decisions.
• Review pull requests, mentor teammates, and refine sprint goals.

What You’ll Deliver: Key Responsibilities

We’ll trust you to:

• Lead a team of engineers, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and technical growth.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable full-stack code.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive front-end experiences and robust back-end services.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Drive integration between React front-end applications and Java/Spring Boot back-end systems.
• Conduct code reviews, set technical direction, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with product and design teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies.

What You Bring to the Table: Essential Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:

• 8+ years of software development experience, with strong front-end expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and state management libraries (e.g., Redux, React Query).
• Deep hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with scalable, service-based architectures.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems (ActiveMQ, Temporal) and data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a tech lead.
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, accessibility, and modern UI/UX best practices.
• Comfort in agile environments with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 – $170,000, commensurate with experience. As an Amount employee, you’ll also be eligible for annual performance bonuses.
