The Opportunity: Kubernetes Cluster Administrator
Are you a seasoned Kubernetes expert passionate about managing robust, high-performance infrastructure? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kubernetes Cluster Administrator to join our team in Lisbon. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of large-scale on-premises Kubernetes clusters, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the critical infrastructure powering our applications and services.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Kubernetes Cluster Administrator at Bosch, you will be instrumental in our operational excellence:
Deploying, managing, and maintaining large-scale on-premises Kubernetes clusters from the ground up.
Proactively monitoring cluster performance, availability, and health to guarantee exceptional stability and resilience.
Implementing and enforcing robust cluster security measures, including RBAC, network policies, and secure configurations.
Optimizing resource utilization through intelligent pod scheduling and efficient service configuration.
Building, maintaining, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to streamline automated builds and deployments.
Diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to cluster operations and performance quickly and effectively.
Performing essential maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrading, and scaling the clusters as needed.
Automating repetitive tasks and workflows using scripting and appropriate tools to improve efficiency.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional development and operations teams to ensure seamless application integration and delivery.
What You Bring: Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong blend of technical expertise and practical experience:
Education: Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related technical field (Masterโs degree is a definite plus).
Experience:
Proven track record managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Solid foundation and extensive experience in Linux system administration.
Demonstrated experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
Technical Proficiency:
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and core concepts.
Familiarity and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Hands-on experience with key Kubernetes-related tools such as Helm, Istio, and Prometheus.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and best practices for security in a cloud-native environment.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for complex systems.
Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and practical experience with tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
Knowledge of storage solutions and persistent volumes within Kubernetes is a plus.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is also a valuable asset.
Languages: Fluent communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
