Senior Python Engineer (Contract) – Build the Future of AI Data Pipelines (Remote)
THIS IS A CONTRACT ROLE
The Opportunity:
Are you a seasoned Senior Python Engineer with a passion for data and AI? We’re seeking an expert developer to contribute to building the foundational data infrastructure for next-generation AI models. In this critical contract role, you will leverage your deep expertise in Python to perform qualitative data analysis and engineer efficient solutions for acquiring and processing large, complex datasets. Your proficiency in SQL will be essential for transforming and managing this data, ensuring it’s clean, accessible, and ready to fuel groundbreaking AI research and development.
This position demands not only strong technical skills but also the ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment, communicating technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Python Engineer on our team, your key responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement robust Python scripts to efficiently parse, download, and manage large-scale datasets from diverse web sources.
Design and optimize SQL queries for effective data processing, transformation, and retrieval.
Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to established standards and best practices.
Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to the continuous improvement of our codebase.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software application issues in a timely manner.
Ensure software applications meet rigorous quality and performance standards.
Provide effective and timely technical solutions to support project goals.
Document technical solutions, code functionality, and processes, ensuring documentation is accurate and kept up-to-date.
Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders.
What You’ll Need:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
A minimum of 6+ years of demonstrated experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on Python development.
Advanced proficiency in the Python programming language and developing intricate Python scripts.
Proven experience designing and implementing data pipelines and data processing pipelines.
Strong expertise in working with SQL databases and writing efficient queries.
Proficiency in working within Linux environments and developing shell scripts.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work productively and manage tasks independently while also being a valuable team player.
Experience contributing to large-scale software development projects.
Nice-to-Haves:
These additional skills and experiences would be considered a plus:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Hands-on experience with web scraping techniques and parsing large datasets.
Experience with major cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools.
Understanding of data analytics and machine learning concepts.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position is between $70.00 – $85.00 per hour.
