The Role: Drive Infrastructure Innovation

We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Principal DevOps Engineer to take a leading role in evolving our cloud infrastructure, automation practices, and platform reliability. This is a critical position for a professional passionate about architecting and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems. You’ll be instrumental in enhancing our CI/CD pipelines, managing advanced Kubernetes environments, and championing infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Own

• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and secure.
• Architect, build, and refine our CI/CD pipelines to maximize deployment efficiency, speed, and reliability.
• Oversee and enhance Kubernetes (EKS) deployments, focusing on high availability, security, and optimal performance.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) principles, standardizing and automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Drive widespread automation across infrastructure operations, monitoring, and security workflows.
• Implement strategies for cloud cost optimization while maintaining operational excellence and performance.
• Define and implement best practices for observability, logging, and monitoring using industry-leading tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and other teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement in system reliability.
• Mentor and guide fellow DevOps engineers, sharing knowledge and contributing to the team’s technical growth.
• Ensure adherence to rigorous security standards and compliance requirements (FedRAMP, SOC2, FIPS, etc.).

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Must be eligible for FedRAMP certification.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure-focused roles.
• Proven expertise designing and managing infrastructure on AWS, coupled with strong infrastructure automation skills.
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and managing containerized applications at scale.
• Proficiency with modern CI/CD platforms such as ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD.
• Extensive practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
• Skilled in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
• Strong command of monitoring, logging, and observability tools and best practices.
• Solid understanding of cloud cost management strategies and optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and effectively mentor engineers.

Bonus Points: Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd, Consul).
• Familiarity with advanced security practices in DevOps and cloud environments.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
• Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost governance.
