Opportunity: Territory Sales Professional (NAM Pharma/Biotech Focus)
Are you a driven sales professional with a proven track record in the North American pharma and biotech sectors? Do you excel at building lasting client relationships and strategically growing business within a defined territory? SGS invites you to leverage your expertise as a Territory Sales expert, playing a critical role in achieving our revenue and market share goals.
Your Impact: Driving Sales Growth & Client Relationships
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for managing and executing a comprehensive sales plan to meet and exceed territory objectives. You’ll work collaboratively, applying your knowledge of SGS’s industry-leading testing and certification services to:
- Strategically manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts within the assigned territory, focusing on the pharma and biotech industries.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, expanding SGS’s footprint in this vital market.
- Build and nurture strong, influential relationships with clients at all levels, becoming a trusted partner in their success.
- Develop and implement a robust territory sales plan, utilizing forecasting and CRM tools to effectively track progress against KPIs.
- Serve as the eyes and ears in the market, communicating critical intelligence regarding competitors, market trends, and evolving client needs.
- Design and execute customized engagement strategies for clients, including personalized meetings, presentations, pricing proposals, and service agreements.
- Undertake cost and time-effective travel within your territory to connect with clients face-to-face.
- Generate clear, action-oriented reports from client interactions, ensuring seamless follow-up and collaboration with internal teams.
- Oversee the creation and timely delivery of accurate proposals and quotations, coordinating closely with operations teams to ensure feasibility.
- Identify and communicate potential cross-selling opportunities for other SGS services and facilities to colleagues.
- Represent SGS professionally at conferences and industry events.
- Maintain a current understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines impacting the pharma/biotech testing market (including areas like Vitrology).
- Champion compliance with SGS quality policies, code of integrity, diversity principles, and safety procedures in all activities.
What You’ll Need to Succeed: Skills & Experience
We are looking for a results-oriented individual with the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field such as Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or a related discipline. Alternatively, a Business degree combined with significant experience in the life science industry is also highly valued.
- Required: A verifiable history of success in sales specifically within the North American pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Proven ability to develop strategic sales plans and consistently achieve challenging sales targets.
- Strong customer-facing skills with significant experience conducting professional client meetings and presentations.
