Job Description

Dashmart Kitchens Trainer (Field-Based)

Are you a culinary operations expert passionate about teaching and empowering others? Join DoorDash’s innovative Dashmart Kitchens team and help us launch and scale prepared food operations across the country!

About DashMart & Dashmart Kitchens

DashMart is DoorDash’s exciting venture into the world of online convenience and grocery. Imagine a digital store, powered by physical locations, where customers order their favorite essentials and prepared foods right from the DoorDash app. Our dedicated teams in these brick-and-mortar stores expertly prepare, pick, and pack orders for our network of Dashers to deliver quickly and reliably.

At DashMart, our promise is simple: Fresh, Local, and Reliable. We operate with agility, often around the clock, to meet customer needs.

Within this dynamic environment, Dashmart Kitchens is our specialized team focused on building and operating culinary hubs. Our mission is to bring a diverse, fast, and affordable selection of restaurant-quality and prepared food options directly to consumers through the DashMart model.

The Opportunity: Become a Leader in Culinary Training

We’re seeking a driven, people-focused Trainer to play a critical role in the expansion of Dashmart Kitchens. In this fast-paced, field-based position, you won’t just train; you’ll be on the ground, rolling up your sleeves, and leading the charge during new kitchen launches. You’ll be instrumental in training our local operators and partners, ensuring they master our culinary standards and operational procedures. You’ll work closely with our expert Culinary, Kitchen Operations, and Project Management teams and report directly to the Head of Kitchen Operations.

What You’ll Do

Lead New Kitchen Launches & Field Training

You will be the key person on the ground during new site activations. Work directly with our Merchant Partners and local teams to provide hands-on training and support. Your focus will be ensuring all managers and cooks are confidently executing our recipes and adhering to our strict operational procedures right from day one.

Drive Ongoing Quality & Operational Excellence

Your role extends beyond launch. Conduct regular on-site audits and partner visits to assess performance and ensure consistent high-quality operations. Identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to maintain our elevated standards.

Innovate & Refine Training Programs

Contribute your expertise to the evolution of our training materials and methods. Help build comprehensive playbooks and processes. Continuously improve our onboarding experience and ongoing training quality based on field insights and performance data.

What You’ll Bring

Your Experience & Skills

You have a proven track record in the culinary and training space:

3+ years of experience cooking and managing in high-volume kitchen environments, including fast-casual, QSR, or from-scratch restaurants.

2+ years of experience in a field training or training development role, ideally within a restaurant or food service group.

    • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and quality control.

    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and the ability to use data to inform decisions and document findings clearly.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Your Passion & Approach

You thrive in a dynamic environment and possess these key qualities:

    • A genuine passion for working with people and empowering teams through training.

    • Excitement for improving operational efficiency and contributing innovative ideas.

    • A knack for problem-solving and a “scrappy” willingness to tackle any task needed to succeed.

    • Self-motivation and the ability to excel with minimal oversight while also being a strong team player.

    • Passion for partnering with restaurants and contributing to their business growth.

Flexibility & Travel

This role requires significant travel and comfort working on-site in active kitchen and restaurant settings.
