Are you a seasoned financial storyteller with a knack for making complex topics clear, engaging, and genuinely helpful? Do you understand the power of content to drive action and build trust? We’re looking for a talented and experienced Lead Finance Writer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a high-impact role where you won’t just write; you’ll lead, strategise, and influence. You’ll be the creative force behind our Personal Finance Content Strategy, crafting words that resonate with our audience and directly contribute to their financial health.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Lead Finance Writer, you will:

• Lead Content Creation: Produce and refine high-quality, accurate, and engaging Personal Finance Content (articles, guides, campaigns) that simplifies complex financial topics and aligns perfectly with Snoop’s unique tone of voice.
• Guide the Team: Provide mentorship and support to our deals writer, fostering a collaborative environment focused on editorial excellence and creativity.
• Shape the Vision: Work closely with senior leadership to define and evolve our Content Strategy, ensuring it drives user engagement, acquisition, and supports overarching business goals.
• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously monitor financial news, regulatory changes, market trends, and user needs to ensure our content is timely, relevant, and provides maximum value.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner seamlessly with Marketing, Commercial, and Product teams to integrate content into campaigns, promotional offers, and the overall user journey.
• Optimise for Impact: Utilise data analytics and user feedback to understand content performance and iteratively improve engagement and effectiveness, keeping SEO best practices and mobile-first design at the forefront.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Extensive proven experience in Personal Finance Journalism or senior-level Financial Content Creation.
• A deep and nuanced understanding of key personal finance areas, including budgeting, saving, investing, credit, debt, and pensions.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, style, and clarity.
• Solid understanding of SEO principles and how to write content that performs well while remaining highly readable.
• A creative and curious mind, capable of transforming technical or dry financial information into compelling, user-friendly narratives.
• Experience mentoring or leading other writers or content creators is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform content decisions.
• A proactive, collaborative, and user-centric approach to content development.
