Role: Data Scientist
As a Data Scientist at Kalibri Labs, you will play a crucial role in supporting our innovative product development by extracting deep insights from complex company data. This position is ideal for someone with applied expertise in Python, distributed databases, sophisticated AI/ML modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization at scale. You will be tasked with delivering high-quality solutions to large-scale problems, requiring adept algorithmic development, deployment, meticulous data cleansing and preparation, strategic model selection, and rigorous feature-importance testing. You’ll be comfortable articulating your methodologies and findings clearly to senior members of the Data Science team and cross-functional stakeholders within our technology group. A core part of your contribution will be writing clean, performant, reusable code for repeatable analyses and precisely training and tuning models for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
We seek an energetic team member eager to explore, innovate, and drive industry-disruptive change. You will achieve this through next-level data analytics built on modern machine learning systems, deep learning techniques, and Big Data analytics. Get ready to work with massive datasets, construct robust operational AI/ML models, and communicate pivotal insights to our talented team of designers and engineers to create truly industry-leading products for our clients.</
What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day will involve actively identifying, loading, and pre-processing new data sources to continuously improve our analytical products and capabilities. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of models, from designing and testing them rigorously to deploying production-ready models that scale. Collaboration is key; you’ll partner closely with data engineering and analysts to ensure production-quality integration of your models into our data pipelines.
You will employ predictive modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and categorization techniques strategically to enhance customer experience and optimize revenue generation for our clients. Coordinating with development and product teams will be essential to implement models effectively and monitor their outcomes in the real world. Furthermore, you will develop processes and tools to continuously monitor and analyze model performance and accuracy, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge and reliable. You will also own the quality of your deployed codebase, contributing to and helping define code review standards and processes for the team. Finally, you will actively participate in discussions with fellow Data Science team members about model and package training, sharing new advancements and contributing to our collective knowledge in the ever-evolving Data Science space.
What You’ll Bring: Skills & Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess 3+ years of commercial production experience specifically building and deploying multiple machine learning models (including clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) for classification and prediction tasks. You must demonstrate professional experience with Python, including core Python data libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn, with a proven ability to utilize Python for complex data manipulation, large-scale analytics, and developing ensemble-based ML models.
We require practical experience operating within an MLOps model, understanding and implementing practices such as Git-based VCS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, and continuous deployments. You should have experience owning a project across the full lifecycle, from initial design and development through to deployment and ongoing operations. SQL expertise is essential, particularly within a modern data warehouse following an SQL-based ELT paradigm. You must have a demonstrated ability to prepare data efficiently for model development, build BI visualizations, and integrate seamlessly into data pipelines.
You will bring extensive knowledge, application, and experience in creating and implementing recommendation systems, machine learning, NLP, statistics, and deep learning techniques. Familiarity and experience with Data Observability and Workflow Platforms for continuous quality control and data transformation are also highly valued. Academically, you should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
