Your Impact on Our Accounting Operations Team
Join our critical Accounting Operations team, the financial backbone supporting Hims & Hers’ rapid expansion. This team manages essential day-to-day financial activities, including vendor and provider Accounts Payable (AP), treasury functions, corporate expenses, intercompany transactions, and payroll. To support our sustained business growth, we are creating this key Accounts Payable Accountant role. You will be an integral part of the team, assisting across various accounting operations functions with a primary focus on the accounts payable process.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Playing a central role in Accounts Payable operations, including managing the AP inbox, assisting with vendor onboarding, handling vendor inquiries, and preparing critical AP reconciliations.
- Ensuring the correct coding and approval of vendor invoices within our billing systems, verifying that appropriate supporting documentation is in place for processing.
- Supporting the accurate coding and posting of corporate credit card transactions into the General Ledger (GL), meticulously reviewing coding decisions and their impact.
- Assisting with the efficient processing and review of employee expense reimbursements.
- Contributing significantly to the month-end close process by assisting with the timely and accurate completion of account reconciliations and preparing/posting necessary manual journal entries.
- Reviewing the output of our outsourced offshore accounting team and developing clear, effective training materials as needed.
- Helping to enhance and document our accounting operations procedures to ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements for a public company.
- Assisting with various ad-hoc accounting projects and proactively resolving issues that arise in the daily flow of accounting operations.
- Taking initiative to identify and implement process improvements within accounting operations and documenting these processes clearly.
What We’re Looking For
You are a meticulous, highly organized individual with a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and a proactive approach to managing tasks in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a reputable university in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics is required.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
- Relevant accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Netsuite, BILL(.com), Brex, or Coupa systems is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, capable of dissecting complex information.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
- The ability to logically approach complex problems, determine efficient processes, arrive at sound accounting conclusions, and clearly present findings to the team.
- Proven ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and manage various projects/tasks concurrently in a fast-paced setting.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as a team player in both remote and potential in-person work environments.
