This is a Remote Position
Are you passionate about data? Do you excel at managing robust databases while also building seamless data flows? We’re looking for a talented PostgreSQL Database Administrator who brings a strong background in Data Integration to join our dynamic team. In this key mid-level remote role, you’ll be instrumental in both the rock-solid performance and security of our PostgreSQL databases *and* the smooth, efficient movement of data using tools like FiveTran and HVR. If you thrive on technical challenges, problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do: Your Impact
As a central member of our team, you will be responsible for the health and flow of our critical data infrastructure. Your key contributions will include:
Seamlessly design, implement, and maintain high-performing PostgreSQL databases, covering everything from schema design and modeling to migration strategies, replication, and failover.
Optimize PostgreSQL database performance, implementing strategies for query tuning, indexing, load balancing, and encryption.
Ensure database resilience through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans, including point-in-time recovery.
Safeguard our data through meticulous database security management, including access controls, authentication, and applying necessary security patches.
Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database issues, resolving performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and connectivity challenges, utilizing built-in monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Drive data flow excellence by designing, developing, and implementing Data Integration solutions, primarily leveraging FiveTran and HVR.
Configure, manage, and optimize data replication, transformation, and loading processes within your integration solutions.
Troubleshoot and fine-tune data channels, ensuring efficient data movement and performance using the FiveTran/HVR integration tool.
Maintain clear, concise procedures and documentation, incorporating auditing and logging capabilities for compliance and historical analysis.
What You’ll Bring: Your Expertise
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following core qualifications:
A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Integration, with a significant focus on implementing solutions using FiveTran and/or HVR.
US Citizen status is required.
Deep understanding of Data Replication, Transformation, and Loading (ETL/ELT) concepts and best practices.
Extensive experience with modern database systems including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Redshift. This includes proficiency in SQL programming (stored procedures, functions, complex queries), database design & modeling, and performance tuning & optimization.
Familiarity with other data replication or integration platforms (e.g., Oracle Goldengate, Dataiku, Talend) is beneficial.
Solid working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including basic command-line interface (CLI) skills, scripting proficiency (e.g., Bash, Python), and system administration/troubleshooting capabilities.
Proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges and solve problems effectively, particularly within data integration environments.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Added Bonuses: Skills That Impress
While not strictly required, candidates with experience or knowledge in the following areas will stand out:
Experience working with Cloud-based Data Integration platforms on major providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, and advanced Data Security principles and best practices.
