Join Us as a Senior Data Engineer II
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer II to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating our next-generation data platform. You’ll work at the forefront of data technology, creating robust, scalable, and performant data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and machine learning applications across TrueML.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
Pioneering Data Platform Architecture
Take the lead in designing, building, and operating our core Data Lakehouse solution. You will leverage open table formats like Apache Iceberg to ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and delivers optimized query performance across a wide spectrum of analytical workloads and emerging data applications.
Develop and manage a scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for the data platform, employing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform and orchestrating with Kubernetes to support diverse data workloads reliably. Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated, consistent, and scalable infrastructure deployments across all environments.
Crafting Data Integration & Transformation Pipelines
Design and construct scalable data pipelines that seamlessly integrate data from diverse source systems. Implement efficient data transformation logic for both batch and streaming data, expertly handling various data formats and structures to prepare data for consumption.
Developing Robust Data Models & Products
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and profile source data. Design, develop, and implement robust data models and curated data products that serve as the foundation for reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
Ensuring Data Quality & Reliability
Establish and maintain high standards for data quality, freshness, and adherence to defined SLAs. Monitor data workloads for performance bottlenecks and errors, proactively troubleshooting issues to ensure the data platform is always available and accurate.
Driving Collaboration & Platform Evolution
Work hand-in-hand with colleagues across Data Services and Data Science teams. Your collaborative efforts will drive the continuous evolution of our data platform, delivering innovative solutions that empower data users and satisfy stakeholder needs throughout the organization.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a talented engineer with a solid foundation in data engineering principles and practices:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience (software or data), with a strong emphasis on 3+ years specifically in data-focused roles.
- Proven experience implementing data lake and data warehousing platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL applied to complex data engineering tasks.
- Expertise within the AWS data ecosystem, including services like S3, Glue Catalog, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Kubernetes.
- A successful track record of building, deploying, and operationalizing data pipelines in production environments.
- Experience working with diverse data stores, particularly relational databases.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, transformation tools like DBT, or data platforms like Snowflake.
- Certification(s) in relevant technologies or methodologies.
- Experience with streaming processing technologies (e.g., Flink, Spark Streaming).
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design principles and event-driven architectures.

Compensation & Location Details
The anticipated base salary range for this position, based on current national data, is $62,000 – $77,000 per year. Please note that minimums and maximums may vary based on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
This role is approved for hire only within the following LatAm countries: Mexico, Argentina, or Dominican Republic.
