Job Description
Join NASA Federal Credit Union
Contract Analyst, Third-Party Risk Management
At NASA Federal Credit Union, we’re more than just a financial institution; we’re a community dedicated to the financial well-being of those who serve the exploration of space and beyond. Join our team and contribute to a secure operational environment by ensuring strong vendor relationships and robust contract management.
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for contracts and vendor risk management? We’re seeking an experienced Contract Analyst to play a crucial role in protecting our Credit Union and its members. This position is central to our Third-Party Risk Program (TPRP), involving close collaboration with stakeholders to navigate the complexities of vendor relationships from start to finish.
You will be instrumental in performing vendor risk assessments, conducting thorough due diligence, executing comprehensive contract reviews, ensuring ongoing vendor oversight, and contributing to program quality assurance. A key part of your role will involve managing the *entire* contract lifecycle – from initial review and negotiation through administration and eventual termination. Your expertise in applying risk best practices and understanding key financial regulations (like NCUA, FFIEC, PCI, SOC, BSA, and OFAC) as they relate to third-party risk and data protection will be essential.
What You’ll Be Doing: Your Core Responsibilities
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute significantly to our operational resilience. Your responsibilities will evolve based on your experience level (Level I or Level II), encompassing a range of critical tasks:

Develop and maintain working knowledge of third-party risk regulations pertinent to financial institutions and the required documentation for due diligence and oversight.
Support the administration of our third-party risk management software, assisting with procedures, training, and user access.
Coordinate the onboarding process for new vendor relationships, determining risk ratings and due diligence requirements in line with policy, federal regulations, and industry best practices.
Monitor, evaluate, and maintain essential vendor information and documentation, actively working with vendors to collect necessary details for initial and ongoing due diligence.
Assist in the identification, analysis, and documentation of vendor-related issues, gathering feedback from internal stakeholders.
Participate actively in vendor contract management, including review, status tracking, execution, and distribution of signed agreements.
Engage in vendor contract negotiations as assigned.
Contribute to enterprise-wide communications, reporting, and metrics related to the Third-Party Risk Program.
Support the business continuity efforts by tracking, measuring, and assessing third-party resiliency.
Assist with the Credit Union’s procurement process, focusing on the review, tracking, execution, and return of signed orders.

Taking on More (Level II responsibilities include all Level I duties, plus):
Serve as a key administrator for our third-party risk management software, managing procedures, training, and access.
Independently review and analyze complex contract terms and conditions, interpret requirements, and propose provisions and amendments that align with the Credit Union’s strategic and risk objectives.
Lead negotiations, modifications, extensions, terminations, and renegotiations for a variety of contracts, collaborating closely with management and stakeholders.
Analyze conditions requiring risk rating exceptions for third parties, providing clear summaries and documenting resolutions.
Offer expert guidance on contracts to proactively prevent disputes and safeguard the Credit Union’s financial interests and reputation.
Take lead responsibility in identifying, analyzing, and documenting vendor issues, gathering comprehensive stakeholder feedback.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of Third-Party Risk Program data, developing insightful reports and metrics.
Coordinate the overall procurement process, including the review, tracking, execution, and return of signed orders.
