Combining strong editorial integrity with a forward-thinking revenue model, they are expanding their Commercial Partnerships team, and this role offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in that expansion.

About Our Client: A Leader in Independent Digital Media

Our client is a respected digital media brand committed to delivering high-quality, independent journalism and fostering a vibrant subscriber community. With a solid foundation of editorial credibility and an innovative approach to revenue generation, they are at an exciting stage of growth, building out the team responsible for cultivating strategic commercial partnerships.

The Role: Account Associate

This position is ideal for an ambitious professional early in their career looking to gain hands-on experience in digital media partnerships. As an Account Associate, you will play a dual role, supporting both new business development (sales development) and ensuring the success of active client relationships (account management). You’ll learn the fundamental skills required to build and maintain valuable client partnerships and expertly manage campaigns from kickoff to completion.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

As an Account Associate, you will be integral to supporting our client’s commercial partnerships activities. Your day-to-day will involve:

Supporting New Business & Sales Development:

• Conduct thorough prospect research, identifying potential advertisers and tracking competitor activities within the digital media landscape.

• Maintain meticulous CRM data integrity by accurately logging outreach, updates, and key interactions.

• Assist with outbound sales efforts by preparing targeted lists, conducting custom research, and occasionally supporting initial outreach.

• Create compelling sales materials, including one-pagers, briefs, and presentations, to support prospect conversations.

Managing Campaigns & Ensuring Client Success:

• Oversee post-sale campaign execution, meticulously tracking timelines, asset delivery, and key deliverables.

• Lead internal and external kickoff calls, facilitating smooth transitions and ensuring crystal-clear expectations for all stakeholders.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the campaign lifecycle, building trust and ensuring a positive experience.

• Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams (Product, Editorial, Operations) to guarantee campaign quality and strategic alignment.

• Track and report on revenue and retention metrics, leveraging support from the business operations team.

Collaboration & Team Environment

You’ll work closely with your client’s Commercial Partnerships Director and collaborate with various teams across their organization, gaining firsthand insight into the operations of a modern digital media company. Additionally, as an Oceans team member, you’ll receive dedicated guidance and support from your Oceans Operations Manager, ensuring your success in the role and fostering continuous professional development.

What You’ll Bring: Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we value T-shaped individuals – professionals who combine deep expertise in a core area with broad curiosity and diverse interests. For this Account Associate role, your strengths should include strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. You’ll also leverage horizontal abilities like relationship-building, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in digital media, advertising, marketing, or partnerships roles.
