Account Manager – SLED & Regulated Utilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Account Manager to manage existing State, Local Government, Education (SLED), and regulated utilities accounts. You will play a pivotal role in fostering strong client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving revenue through renewals, upsells, and cross-sells. Experience in the Education (EDU) sector is highly valued.
As an Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for our valued clients, partnering closely with internal teams to ensure their success and satisfaction. You will analyze accessibility trends, develop targeted outreach campaigns, and deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders at all levels. With a direct sales quota and attractive bonus & commission structure, this role offers significant earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and success.
- Renewal and Expansion: Proactively manage the full retention lifecycle, driving high contract value retention rates and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Collaboration: Partner with customer success managers and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service.
- Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations on the importance of digital accessibility to diverse audiences, from front-line staff to senior executives.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling proposals and right-fit solutions that address unique customer needs.
- Quota Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain quarterly and annual strategic account plans.
- Salesforce Management: Utilize Salesforce to manage all aspects of prospect and client communications, activities, and tasks.
- Sales Enablement: Leverage sales enablement technologies to maximize share of wallet within account hierarchies.
What Success Looks Like
- Quota Attainment: Consistently achieve quarterly quota targets through net-retention and sales of accessibility consulting services.
- Pipeline Development: Maintain a robust pipeline with a minimum of 2X to 3X coverage of your quota.
- Retention Lifecycle Excellence: Deliver consistent, timely, and high-value interactions with your client portfolio.
- Gross and Net-Retention Rates: Successfully renew existing contracts and expand them into new products, services, and lines of business.
- Product Expertise: Maintain up-to-date demo certification and product knowledge.
- Accurate Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain clean, reliable data in Salesforce.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of B2B sales experience is essential.
- Proven experience with solution-selling or consultative selling methodologies.
- Demonstrated success managing a current book of business, including renewals and expansion.
- Experience in the Public Sector and EDU space is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex commercial discussions within large organizations.
- Excellent communication (phone and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort with change and a proactive attitude to embrace new challenges.
- Understanding of web technology specific to accessibility is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
