Your Mission:

As the Android Development Lead, you’ll be at the helm of a talented team of Android engineers and QA specialists. Your primary focus will be developing applications for Android Automotive OS (AAOS) that seamlessly integrate with vehicles and enhance the driving experience. You’ll collaborate closely with our Product and Design teams to deliver exceptional solutions for our OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Android engineers and QA personnel.
• Define and drive the technical architecture and system design for our Android Automotive applications, prioritizing performance, security, and automotive-grade reliability.
• Ensure seamless integration with embedded systems, car hardware APIs, and OEM standards.
• Champion code quality through rigorous code reviews and the promotion of clean, testable, and scalable code practices.
• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on product vision and technical execution.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong foundation in Java and/or Kotlin.
• 2+ years of dedicated experience working with Android Automotive OS.
• A proven track record of leading engineering teams or complex technical projects to successful completion.
• Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack components, and Android app architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Hilt/Koin).
• Experience with voice assistants and audio processing technologies is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with AAOS-specific APIs, the CarApp library, AudioManager, and the unique UX constraints of in-car environments.
• Demonstrated ability to align stakeholders and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working directly with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is a significant plus.
• A background in real-time audio streaming and WebSocket APIs would be beneficial.
• Understanding of automotive safety, certification, and regulatory compliance standards is a plus.
