We’re thrilled to introduce the Pinterest Product Design Apprenticeship Program – a unique opportunity crafted for talented individuals ready to transition into the tech industry.

About the Product Design Apprenticeship

This isn’t just a program; it’s a launchpad. The Pinterest Apprenticeship is specifically designed to welcome professionals from diverse, non-traditional tech backgrounds – whether you’re a design bootcamp graduate, self-taught creative, or come from a field outside of typical tech roles without prior professional Product Design experience. If you’ve faced barriers breaking into the industry, this program is for you.

Accepted apprentices will embark on an immersive journey spanning up to one year. This experience offers hands-on exposure to Product Design at Pinterest, working on real, impactful projects. While the program offers the exciting possibility of converting to a full-time Product Designer role upon successful completion, it’s important to note that employment is at-will and the specific duration isn’t guaranteed, though it can extend up to the one-year mark.

What You’ll Experience and Achieve

As a Product Design Apprentice, you won’t be on the sidelines. You’ll be fully integrated into our design team, contributing to a high-impact project alongside experienced Pinterest Product Designers and collaborators from Research, Product Management, and Engineering teams.

This apprenticeship provides a deep dive into the end-to-end design process. You’ll learn how ideas evolve from initial exploration and ideation through to final execution and implementation with engineering partners. It’s a chance to understand the practical realities of bringing a product vision to life at scale.

Crucially, you’ll be supported every step of the way. A dedicated mentor will be assigned to guide you, offering insights, feedback, and helping you navigate the expectations of excelling as a Product Designer within Pinterest’s environment. This experience is designed for continuous growth, both professionally and personally, through structured learning and development opportunities.

Who We’re Looking For: Your Profile

We’re seeking passionate, proactive individuals ready to pivot into a tech career, specifically aspiring Product Designers. You are likely someone who:

Comes from a Non-Traditional Path:

You are a professional from a background outside of typical tech industry roles. This includes, but is not limited to, graduates of design bootcamps, talented self-taught designers, or individuals who lack a formal degree or previous professional experience *specifically* in Product Design positions.

Is Driven and Curious:

You are self-motivated and actively pursuing a career transition into the tech sector. You possess a genuine curiosity about the day-to-day realities and success factors of a Product Designer role at a company like Pinterest.

Brings Collaborative Experience:

Ideally, you have at least 1+ years of experience working effectively and communicating clearly within *any* professional work environment. Your ability to collaborate is key.

Has Practical Tool Knowledge:

You have hands-on experience using design software such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, or Illustrator.

Please Note: This program requires a full-time commitment during standard business hours. Therefore, candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD academic program are not eligible for this specific position.

Important Logistics & Compensation

This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in the United States. Applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this role.

We believe in transparency. The base monthly salary range for this Product Design Apprentice position is $8,100 – $9,500. Final compensation may vary based on factors including location, relevant prior experience, and specific skills.
