About the Opportunity: Join Our Enterprise Data Warehouse Team

Join our dynamic Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team as a BI BusinessObjects/SQL Developer to help us deliver critical business intelligence for vital healthcare programs.
In this role, you will play a key part in designing and developing robust BI solutions using SAP BusinessObjects and SQL, specifically supporting Medicaid and CHIP claims data, alongside other healthcare data systems. Your work will directly empower state and federal stakeholders with accurate, reliable, and insightful reporting, contributing to informed decision-making that impacts public health programs.
This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility while requiring occasional travel to Springfield, IL for team meetings or client engagements.
What You’ll Do: Crafting Data Solutions
As a BI BusinessObjects/SQL Developer, your core responsibilities will include:
Designing & Developing Solutions
- Architect, develop, and maintain detailed BusinessObjects reports leveraging complex Medicaid/CHIP claims and subsystem data.
- Create and optimize intricate SQL scripts and queries to build and support data marts and operational reporting.
- Design and manage BusinessObjects Universes and metadata layers to ensure efficient, consistent, and user-friendly data access.
- Develop and maintain robust underlying database systems to support scalable data storage and reporting capabilities.
Ensuring Quality & Reliability
- Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system testing for reporting and data components to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to server backups and assist in maintaining system reliability and readiness for disaster recovery.
Collaborating & Communicating
- Partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to deeply understand requirements and translate them into effective, data-driven solutions.
- Provide clear, timely, and transparent project updates to stakeholders and internal teams.
Mentoring & Growing
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and training as needed.
- Stay current with evolving BI tools, technologies, and industry trends to continuously enhance our reporting environment.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support project success and organizational goals.
What You’ll Bring: Your Expertise & Experience
We’re looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in business intelligence and data development:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects development, including extensive BusinessObjects Universe design.
- 5+ years of professional SQL development experience, with at least 4 years specifically focused on SQL performance tuning.
- 2+ years of direct involvement in data warehouse projects.
- 2+ years of experience using Teradata (v15+), including working with SQL Assistant.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with clients and stakeholders at various levels.
- A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A strong team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate closely and adapt to changing needs.
Bonus Points: Nice to Have Skills
While not strictly required, the following experience would be a significant plus:
- 2+ years of experience as a BusinessObjects server administrator.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, or other healthcare-related data and systems.
- Experience with Tableau or BusinessObjects version upgrades.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
Logistics: Location Details
This is a fully remote position. Please note that occasional travel to Springfield, IL will be required.
