The Opportunity: Sales Representative – Northern Portugal

As a Sales Representative, you will be instrumental in expanding TOMRA Collection Solutions’ presence in Portugal. You’ll manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to post-sale support. Your mission is to establish strong client relationships, drive revenue growth, and represent TOMRA’s values with integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Client Engagement: Identify and engage potential customers, build rapport with key decision-makers, and nurture long-term partnerships.
  • Strategic Sales Execution: Implement strategic sales plans to surpass revenue targets, optimize product mix, and ensure profitability.
  • Market Development: Drive new business opportunities within the evolving deposit return system landscape in Portugal.
  • Product Expertise & Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product demonstrations and presentations tailored to meet specific client needs.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contracts and effectively close deals, aligning with TOMRA’s commercial objectives.
  • Collaboration & Customer Satisfaction: Partner with cross-functional teams to guarantee a smooth customer onboarding process and ongoing satisfaction.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Monitor market trends, assess competitor activities, and provide regular reports on sales performance and forecasts.
  • Brand Representation: Represent TOMRA at industry events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and reputation.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to make commercially sound decisions.
  • A proactive and self-driven approach to identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster lasting client relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams to achieve TOMRA’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of successful sales experience in the technical/mechanical equipment industry, preferably within modern grocery retail.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and cultivating long-term client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of Sales & Service models; a solution-oriented and trustworthy approach with excellent knowledge of the Portuguese market.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and environmental consciousness.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; sales certifications and a valid driver’s license are advantageous.
