What You’ll Do: Shape the Technical Future

As our Lead Platform Architect, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of defining and driving the technical direction for all TetraScience products. Your influence will span the entire platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and innovation. Key responsibilities include:

• Owning, defining, communicating, and championing the technical vision and architectural strategy across the organization.
• Spearheading the technical strategy for core platform components, including data re-platforming, data engineering, the Analytics layer, and the AI/ML layer.
• Providing expert technical counsel and architectural feasibility assessments to executive leadership.
• Leading strategic architecture discussions and technical collaborations with major partners like Google Cloud, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Clearly communicating complex architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including engineering teams, product managers, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Mentoring and developing team members on advanced design techniques, systems architecture principles, and coding standards.
• Driving initiatives focused on enhancing the scalability, availability, resiliency, and performance of our services and products.
• Staying at the cutting edge of emerging technologies and representing TetraScience as a technical thought leader at industry events.

Qualifications: Bring Your Expertise

We are seeking a highly accomplished architect with a proven track record in building robust, scalable platforms. The ideal candidate will possess:

• 15+ years of progressive experience designing and building highly scalable, complex data platforms.
• Significant hands-on experience with AWS, architecting for Services-Architecture, and applying web-scale design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to define, evangelize, and successfully drive an architectural vision for a company or major product line.
• Proven success in developing and implementing product strategy within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Deep technical expertise in building Platform Architecture utilizing Microservices and Containerization technologies.
• Experience in designing schemas, knowledge graphs, and ontologies.
• Proficiency in Python and other web-scale technologies relevant to data platforms.
• Extensive experience with ETL processes, data integration, data pipelines, and lake house architectures.
• An exceptionally high degree of curiosity and a demonstrated drive for learning and achievement.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Google Cloud, or Azure is a significant advantage.
• Outstanding problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• A track record of transparent communication and the ability to influence technical direction effectively at the executive level.
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the table and contribute to strategic planning.
• Experience influencing organizational change from an enterprise architecture perspective over a sustained period.
• Domain knowledge in the life sciences or experience working directly with Biopharma companies is highly advantageous.
