What You’ll Do:

As a Collateral Underwriter, you’ll be the expert on all things related to property valuation and risk mitigation. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing and evaluating appraisal reports for conventional loans originated through our retail platform, ensuring compliance with all agency and investor guidelines.
• Conducting thorough collateral reviews within established timelines to meet our high service level expectations.
• Managing your assigned pipeline effectively, proactively communicating any issues or concerns to appraisers, processors, and loan originators.
• Staying up-to-date on the latest agency and investor guidelines and updates, ensuring our processes remain compliant.
• Providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, building strong relationships and resolving inquiries promptly.
• Collaborating with our Post Closing Department to address any stipulations related to closed files.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the underwriting team.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Proven experience in collateral underwriting is highly preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of agency and investor underwriting policies (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac).
• Exceptional prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload.
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer a competitive compensation package, with an hourly rate ranging from $33.65 to $38.46. This range reflects the various factors considered in determining compensation, including candidate experience, background, and work location, while also allowing for future salary growth within the role.
