Content Strategist & Copywriter (Contract) – Crafting Compelling Energy Narratives

Renew Home is seeking a talented and experienced Content Strategist & Copywriter (Contract) to join our dynamic Marketing team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the architect of our brand voice, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping how we communicate with utilities, partners, and homeowners, elevating our brand presence and driving engagement. This role is central to crafting high-quality content, that supports SEO strategy, and creates clear product marketing narratives.

Key Responsibilities: Shaping Our Brand Story

  • Content Creation & Refinement: Develop, edit, and polish copy for campaigns, social media, website content, and external communications. Ensure brand consistency, clarity, and adherence to legal and brand guidelines.
  • Thought Leadership: Craft compelling thought leadership content, including white papers, position papers, case studies, social media posts, and executive blogs. Establish Renew Home as a leader in the energy sector.
  • Product Marketing Support: Align messaging with brand narratives and strategic campaigns to effectively promote Renew Home’s innovative products and services.
  • SEO Strategy & Execution:

    • Develop and implement keyword strategies and content roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
    • Optimize website, blog, and campaign content for SEO best practices to improve organic visibility.
    • Collaborate with digital and paid media teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated marketing approach.
    • Track performance metrics (rankings, traffic, conversions) and refine strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure all content aligns with Renew Home’s broader positioning and strategic goals.
  • Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to streamline approvals and ensure accuracy.
  • AI Integration: Leverage AI tools to accelerate content development, test and refine messaging frameworks, and scale content production.
  • Content Library Development: Contribute to building and maintaining a library of approved narratives, templates, and reusable content blocks.

Qualifications: Your Expertise

  • 7-10+ years of experience in content strategy, copywriting, and SEO execution (agency or in-house).
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate language.
  • Solid understanding of both B2B messaging (utilities, OEMs, policy) and broader brand marketing narratives.
  • Proven experience producing thought leadership and campaign content across various formats.
  • Strong expertise in SEO strategy and execution: keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and SEO-focused content planning.
  • A strategic thinker who ensures content contributes to consistent and impactful storytelling.
  • Proficient in managing cross-functional input from Marketing, Communications, and Legal teams.
  • A commitment to clarity, brevity, and impact in all communications.
  • Prior experience in the energy, climate tech, SaaS, or similarly technical/regulated industries is preferred.

Contract Details

  • This is a contract position for six months.
  • Hourly rate: $110 – $150.
