The Role: Data Migration Lead – Remote Opportunity
As our Data Migration Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of planning, managing, and executing the seamless migration of vital healthcare data. You will be leading the data transformation needed for the implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms (think Epic, Oracle Health – Cerner, Meditech and others). Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient transition of legacy data, enabling our clients to embrace modern digital healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and champion the Data Migration Strategy and Plan, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and digital requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Deploy and manage data transformation software and tools to optimize migration processes.
- Team Management: Oversee data migration sub-workstreams, guiding the team towards achieving project goals.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and manage rigorous data quality assurance, validation, and cleansing processes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with clinical teams, IT departments, infrastructure teams, and third-party suppliers.
- Risk Management: Proactively lead risk and issue management related to data migration, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Communication: Facilitate stakeholder meetings, providing clear and concise updates to programme boards and digital working groups.
- Progress Monitoring: Diligently monitor project progress and report key metrics to stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For: Essential Skills & Experience
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of success in data migration and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Extensive experience in data migration and data quality roles, ideally within the healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated experience leading data migration projects end-to-end.
- A strong grasp of NHS data models and statutory reporting requirements.
- Hands-on experience with major EHR systems, with a preference for Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium).
- Exceptional ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft T-SQL Querying (at least 3 years’ experience), including writing SQL Queries to analyse data, or similar RDBMS querying languages.
- Experience as a Data Analyst or Data Migration Specialist, ideally working within Data Migration projects.
- Experience in a customer-facing/consultancy role, including the ability to facilitate sessions through MS Teams.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot).
- Familiarity with Jira.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SSIS or equivalent ETL Tools.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications in data management or migration are a plus).
