The Opportunity: Build a Data Quality Powerhouse

As the Data Quality Lead, reporting directly to the Head of Data, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build and lead the enterprise-wide data quality practice from the ground up. This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, implement, and own the strategies that guarantee the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement a Data Quality Framework: Create policies, standards, and procedures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCRA, GLBA).
• Define and Own Key Quality Indicators (KQIs): Establish metrics to monitor the health of data across critical domains like Customer, Loan, Finance, and Risk.
• Drive Data Quality Initiatives: Develop and execute a roadmap, prioritizing efforts based on business impact, risk mitigation, and strategic value.
• Collaborate and Certify: Work with Data Owners, Stewards, and Domain Leads to identify, profile, and certify Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
• Enforce Data Quality Rules: Ensure CDEs have clearly defined business logic, metadata, and an authoritative source.
• Automate Monitoring and Alerting: Design and deploy automated DQ monitoring solutions using our cloud data platform (Google Cloud: BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataform) and visualization tools (Looker).
• Embed Quality into Pipelines: Collaborate with Data Engineering to integrate automated DQ checks directly into data pipelines (“quality-by-design”).
• Provide Transparent Reporting: Develop and maintain data quality dashboards for executive leadership and operational teams.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis: Coordinate with data engineering, operations, and business teams to resolve high-priority data quality issues.
• Champion Data Accountability: Develop training materials, promote best practices, and demonstrate the value of high-quality data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in a data-focused role, with 4+ years specifically in data quality, data governance, or data management.
• Proven experience designing and implementing a data quality framework.
• Expert proficiency in SQL.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (GCP: BigQuery, Dataplex preferred) and data quality tools.
• Deep understanding of data quality dimensions.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Bonus Points:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in financial services, lending, or fintech.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python.
• Experience with modern data stack technologies (dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran).
• Professional certification in data management or governance (e.g., CDMP).
• Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.

Location:

This position is based in Miami, FL (Hybrid) or US Remote.
