Your Mission: Build & Optimize Our Infrastructure

As our DevOps / SRE Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our platform is reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. Your primary focus will be on building and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and automating processes to support our rapid growth.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be doing:

• Architect, build, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines (like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI), ensuring smooth, automated deployments.
• Proactively identify and implement strategies to optimise infrastructure and cloud costs, with a keen focus on our AWS bill.
• Automate environment provisioning, application deployment, and monitoring processes end-to-end.
• Enhance our platform’s observability and monitoring capabilities using tools like Datadog.
• Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to facilitate seamless releases and maintain operational excellence.
• Identify and automate manual operational tasks wherever possible to increase efficiency.
• Upgrade and maintain secure, consistent, and high-performance local development environments (e.g., managing certificates, local TLS, dev containers).
• Apply strong Linux and system administration expertise to manage servers, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and ensure stable environments.

What You Bring to the Team

We’re looking for a skilled professional who is passionate about automation, reliability, and efficiency. If you meet the following criteria, we encourage you to apply:

Essential Qualifications

• You have 3+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar infrastructure-focused role.
• Proven expertise with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• A demonstrated track record of successfully optimizing AWS resources and reducing cloud spend.
• Solid experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and best practices for continuous integration and delivery.
• You possess a strong sense of ownership and a mindset geared towards efficiency, automation, and problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• You are available to work full-time (40 hours per week).
• You are located outside of Germany.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with AWS cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Compute Optimizer, Trusted Advisor).
• Familiarity with PHP or Node.js environments.
• Experience with incident response processes and on-call rotations.
• Background in security, managing secrets, or IAM policies.
• Knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
