Your Mission at Sembi
As DevOps Manager, reporting to the Sr Director of IT and DevOps, you will lead a team of talented DevOps engineers and collaborate with product, engineering, and IT leadership. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliable, scalable infrastructure and streamlined deployment pipelines across our diverse brands and product lines. This is a hands-on technical management role where you’ll drive automation, enhance observability, and champion best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Leading & Mentoring a High-Performing Team:
- Guide and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering their technical skills, communication, and teamwork dynamics.
- Support multiple cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and incident response processes.
Driving Project & Process Excellence:
- Lead agile ceremonies for core DevOps engineering teams, including sprint planning, commitments, and retrospectives.
- Identify and drive automation investments to improve efficiency and empower junior engineers.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align deployment and SRE practices with agile methodologies.
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance deployment velocity, rollback safety, and environment parity.
- Participate in incident response reviews and postmortems, cultivating a culture of reliability and continuous learning.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge sharing via Jira and Confluence.
Championing Technical Innovation:
- Guide and evolve infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Helm, and related tooling.
- Drive containerization and Kubernetes orchestration best practices across brands and platforms.
- Oversee observability tooling and alerting, including Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, PagerDuty, and Opsgenie.
- Own operational standards for CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions and CircleCI.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
Process Leadership:
- Experience leading an agile DevOps engineering process using ticketing tools like Atlassian JIRA.
- Ability to schedule operational activities, upgrades, maintenance windows, and health checks.
- Experience defining and managing on-call schedules leveraging alerting tools like PagerDuty, Opsgenie.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence in engineering team workflows.
- Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and team operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of cross-functional teamwork.
Technical Expertise:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles, including 2+ years in a lead or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience managing and deploying Kubernetes workloads in production.
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, CircleCI), and modern cloud deployment strategies.
- Proficiency with observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki).
Bonus Points
- Experience supporting multiple brands or business units across diverse tech stacks.
- Exposure to cloud-native security practices, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Familiarity with cost optimization and cloud spend reporting.
- Experience with incident command or formalized incident response frameworks.
- Comfortable scripting in Bash, Python, or Go for automation tasks.
- Prior involvement in DevOps maturity assessments, tooling selection, or team scaling.
