Your Mission: Technical Leadership in Complex Electronic Hardware
As a key member of our project team, you will be deeply involved in DO-254 Complex Electronic Hardware (CEH) projects. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical leadership for the design, development, and testing of real-time embedded and safety-critical FPGAs. This role offers the potential to evolve into a formal leadership position.
This position can be based onsite at our Connecticut location, hybrid (CT) or fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Directly address and resolve technical and logistical challenges with our clients.
- Project Management Collaboration: Partner with project management to overcome programmatic hurdles, provide accurate effort estimations, and guide the team’s professional development.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop robust project plans, translate them into actionable execution strategies, and effectively identify root causes of variations, recommending appropriate corrective measures.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical and project guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with quality and schedule objectives, and drive results through effective leadership and collaboration.
- Effective Communication: Maintain timely and clear communication with the project team, company management, and customers to facilitate rapid issue resolution.
- Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with software, quality, design, and test engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept to final testing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrate a strong understanding of regulatory compliance standards, with preferred experience in DO-254 and AC20-152A.
- HDL Proficiency: Utilize HDL (VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog) to develop designs based on detailed requirements; handle blank-sheet development using general system requirements is highly desirable.
- Verification Expertise: Develop comprehensive verification strategies and tests for both simulation and target testing environments. Knowledge of Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) is a plus.
- CEH Design and Verification: Design, develop, analyze, evaluate, simulate, verify, and integrate/test Complex Electronic Hardware (CEH) such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and other CPLDs.
- Lifecycle Management: Possess a thorough understanding of development lifecycles to proactively mitigate risks during all development phases.
- Project Management Acumen: Demonstrate intermediate understanding of project management and task management techniques, such as Earned Value Management.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize various development tools such as Vivado and Quartus.
What You Bring to the Table
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- FPGA and HDL Experience: Proven experience in VHDL / FPGA design, ideally with Xilinx experience, and embedded systems experience.
- Experience: A range of 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required; disclosure of dual citizenship is necessary.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in software development (DO-178C).
- Familiarity with working directly with PCBs/CBAs.
- Experience with System on a Chip (SOC) architecture.

Location Preference: Preference given to candidates located in the Hartford, CT area. Otherwise, the ability to travel approximately eight weeks per year is required.
