Your Impact: Shaping Our Gaming Coverage

As our Gaming Editor, you won’t just edit; you’ll be a key player in building and refining our gaming content section. This role blends hands-on content creation with crucial leadership responsibilities:

Crafting Compelling Content:

You’ll be hands-on, writing and publishing a diverse range of gaming content, including timely news briefs, in-depth features, helpful guides, and practical tips. This often involves capturing original screenshots or images to illustrate your points.

Leading the Charge:

Take the helm of our gaming section’s writing team. This includes recruiting and guiding talented freelance and self-publishing writers, reviewing pitches, assigning stories, and providing clear, constructive editorial guidance.

Ensuring Quality & Flow:

Uphold our high editorial standards by editing submitted articles for accuracy, readability, adherence to our style guide, and overall quality. You’ll also manage the editorial workflow, overseeing deadlines and ensuring a balanced mix of content types published daily and monthly.

Driving Growth & Strategy:

Monitor section performance using analytics tools to understand what resonates with our audience. Use these insights to refine your content strategy, supporting our growth and engagement goals. Collaborate weekly in editorial meetings, contributing ideas and aligning with broader site initiatives.

What You Bring to the Table:

We’re looking for a candidate with a blend of proven editorial prowess and genuine gaming passion:

Your Expertise & Passion:

Proven editorial leadership experience, ideally within digital publishing or media. A profound, demonstrable understanding of the gaming industry across all major platforms (PC, console, mobile) and genres. Exceptional editorial judgment and a keen eye for detail, consistently producing high-quality content.

Your Technical & Strategic Acumen:

Working knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing web content for search. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), editorial planning tools, and analytics platforms (like Google Analytics, SEMrush).

Your Organizational Prowess:

Strong organizational and time-management skills, enabling you to effectively prioritize tasks, juggle multiple projects, and consistently meet deadlines.

Education (Preferred):

A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
