Station A is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Finance to build and scale our financial infrastructure from the ground up. As our first in-house finance hire, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future, partnering with leadership to accelerate growth and make climate action a no-brainer for all.

About the Role:

This is more than just a finance role; it’s an opportunity to be a key strategic partner, impacting critical decisions across the organization. You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and executing financial strategies that align with Station A’s vision.
• Driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including long-term modeling, scenario planning, and capital allocation.
• Owning and streamlining all financial operations, from accounting and reporting to compliance and investor relations.
• Providing actionable financial insights that inform product development, sales strategies, and hiring decisions.
• Building and mentoring a high-performing finance team as we scale.

What You’ll Do: Your Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Finance, you’ll be at the heart of Station A’s growth, driving impactful results through:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead long-term modeling, scenario planning, and capital allocation.
• Dynamic FP&A: Drive forecasting, build budgets with department leads, and ensure resources align with company priorities.
• Data-Driven Insights: Translate financial data into actionable insights for product, sales, and hiring decisions.
• Comprehensive Financial Operations: Oversee accounting, AR/AP, monthly close, revenue recognition, and compliance.
• Investor Relations: Own board and investor communications, delivering clear and audit-ready reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner on pricing strategy, margin analysis, and revenue recognition.
• Compensation & Equity Planning: Support commission structures aligned with company goals.
• Building the Future Finance Team: Design workflows and systems to prepare Station A for Series B and beyond.

Who You Are:

We’re seeking a highly motivated individual with:

• Proven experience building and scaling finance functions at early-stage startups (Series A-B or beyond).
• Expertise in strategic finance leadership, including long-range planning, scenario modeling, and capital allocation.
• Strong FP&A and financial modeling skills, with a track record of turning data into actionable insights.
• Experience preparing and presenting investor-grade reporting and presentations.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities, with the ability to operate hands-on and build a high-performing team.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with end-to-end financial operations, including accounting, revenue recognition, and compliance.
• Experience in fundraising diligence, including preparing materials and managing data rooms.
• Familiarity with subscription/SaaS or marketplace business models.
• Industry experience in climate, clean energy, or adjacent sectors.
• CPA or relevant certifications.

Location & Benefits:

This role is ideally based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York, but remote (U.S.-based) candidates will also be considered. We offer a competitive salary ($170K – $190K) with performance-based bonus and meaningful equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
