Head of Marketing and Member Communications at YPO

Are you a strategic, results-oriented Marketing Leader with a passion for building vibrant communities and driving engagement? YPO, the premier global leadership community of chief executives, is seeking a Head of Marketing and Member Communications to shape how we connect with our esteemed members worldwide.

In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with YPO’s Managing Director, Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders to define, champion, and execute the vision, strategy, and budget for our global Marketing and Communications department. Your mission will be to ensure our members receive timely, relevant, and actionable information that reinforces YPO’s values, deepens our unique culture, fosters meaningful connection, and ultimately drives participation in YPO’s unparalleled offerings.

What You’ll Do

As our Head of Marketing and Member Communications, you will:

Translate the Global Board’s strategic vision and the Managing Director’s goals into a clear, actionable Global Marketing Strategy and execution plan that aligns stakeholders across the organization.

Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive Member Engagement and events marketing strategy that resonates globally and drives participation.

Develop sophisticated segmentation strategies (lifecycle, global, etc.) to deeply understand our membership and tailor communications for maximum impact.

Oversee the global marketing budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and rigorously measuring campaign performance to demonstrate ROI.

Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing, Remote Marketing Team operating across diverse time zones.

Champion and embed best practices for results orientation, streamlined processes, and exceptional client service within the marketing and communications functions.

Collaborate with technology leadership (Chief Product and Technology Officer) to modernize YPO’s Digital Marketing capabilities and infrastructure.

Drive innovation in Member Engagement approaches, campaign strategy, compelling Content Development, and authentic Brand Storytelling.

Evaluate, recommend, and deploy cutting-edge Marketing Automation tools to enhance efficiency and personalization.

Build strong relationships and align diverse stakeholders and business teams to amplify the impact of marketing and communications efforts.

Ensure consistency, resonance, and maximum impact of YPO’s voice and messaging across all communication channels.

Oversee Brand Reputation management and Public Relations strategy to protect and enhance YPO’s standing.

Guide the team toward seamless execution of all Member Engagement, marketing, and communications operations.

Build organizational capability to effectively customize marketing and communication campaigns for regional and national nuances.

Craft and deliver clear, timely, and strategic communication regarding critical organizational changes.

What You’ll Bring

You are a seasoned leader with:

Extensive experience, ideally 10+ years, in Marketing Leadership, Communications, project management, and client services, preferably within a member-based or global organization.

A Proven Track Record of driving measurable marketing results, providing executive leadership, designing efficient processes, and successfully navigating Stakeholder Alignment in complex environments.

Significant experience collaborating with and influencing executive-level stakeholders, including Boards of Directors, steering committees, and leadership teams.

Strong expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive, strategic processes that are tightly aligned with organizational priorities.

Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication Skills: clear, structured, and persuasive.

Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with modern Digital Marketing and communications best practices, technologies, and platforms.

A strong service orientation with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

The ability to effectively manage trade-off decisions and balance competing priorities in a dynamic setting.

A natural ability to connect people, programs, and information to build consensus and influence outcomes.

Comfort navigating ambiguity and skillfully managing conflict within a frequently changing environment.

Unwavering ethical standards and a high level of discretion regarding confidential information.

A champion of cross-departmental collaboration and seamless information sharing.

A distinct Global Mindset, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of diverse local and international customs and protocols.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Travel & Physical Requirements

Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate a global team and stakeholders.

Comfortable with extended periods of work at a computer screen.

Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 25% per year.
