We’re seeking a talented individual to join our client, a leading international provider of communication and information systems for critical control centers. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in the Air Traffic Management, Public Safety, and Transport sectors.

The Opportunity

As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you’ll be pivotal in strengthening our client’s automation and security hardening capabilities. Your primary focus will be designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions for deploying and hardening Windows 11 Workspaces and Windows Server 2025 environments. You’ll be working in accordance with CIS Benchmarks at various compliance levels, ensuring robust security and compliance.

This is a 6-month B2B contract with the possibility of extension. Work is 100% remote from Poland, offering you the flexibility you need. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team within the Infrastructure Competence Centre, working alongside colleagues in Austria, Slovakia, Romania, and Poland.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of the team, you will:

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for deploying and hardening Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 based on CIS Level 1 and Level 2 benchmarks.
• Automate Windows Server and Active Directory configuration, security baselines, and other operational tasks.
• Integrate automation workflows with DevOps toolchains, including Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with security experts to implement CIS-based controls and ensure compliance monitoring.
• Create comprehensive documentation, facilitate knowledge transfer, and provide training on standardized automation practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, resolve incidents, and continuously improve automated deployment frameworks.
• Contribute to the ICC’s mission of promoting standardization, knowledge sharing, and infrastructure resilience across all Frequentis SBUs and projects.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Extensive experience with Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025) and Windows 11 administration.
• Proven expertise in automation and scripting tools:
  • Ansible (especially playbook development for Windows)
  • PowerShell (for Windows automation and security)
  • Python (for scripting and integration)
  • Jenkins (for CI/CD automation)
• A solid understanding of Active Directory configuration, automation, and hardening techniques.
• Practical knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and security hardening best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts and DevOps workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills (English is required, German is a plus).

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with other automation/configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., WAZUH, Zabbix).
• Knowledge with Databases (i.e. Postgres) and/or search and analytics search engine (i.e. OpenSearch)
