The Opportunity: Cost Management Specialist

As a Cost Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of our clients’ projects. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive cost management support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for review, benchmarking against industry standards.
• Develop Value Engineering and Life Cycle Costing options to optimize project value.
• Identify potential risks and contribute to the project Risk Register.
• Support the pre-contract process, contributing to meetings and providing cost input.
• Assist in preparing the Procurement Strategy and supporting reports.
• Attend client meetings, recording discussion points and agreed actions.
• Participate in design team meetings, advising on cost implications and implementing meeting outcomes.
• Assist in lease negotiations, validating tenant improvement allowances.
• Contribute to the development of standardized project templates.
• Support cost management tasks, including change order logs, invoice logs, and cost reports.
• Assist with measurements and research pricing for development appraisals.
• Support the drafting and finalization of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the project and cost management team.

Remote Work: This role is primarily remote, allowing you to work from home for the majority of your hours. We also value in-person collaboration and relationship-building, so some time will be required for team meetings, client interactions, and professional development.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years of cost management experience.
• Proficiency in CostX for producing estimates, bills, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends (e.g., Sustainability).
• Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Data Center or Mission Critical Construction projects.
• MRICS or on the path to chartership.
