Your Mission: Driving Financial Excellence for Innovative Companies
As a CFO Services Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission, working directly with clients to:
- Apply rigorous problem-solving to help clients overcome financial hurdles and fuel growth.
- Serve as a primary point of contact, delivering clear and insightful recommendations while managing client expectations.
- Develop sophisticated financial models, budgets, and forecasts using cutting-edge analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals from top tech companies, private equity firms, and investment banks.
- Partner with clients to drive measurable improvements in key financial and business KPIs.
- Maintain project momentum through proactive budget management, variance reporting, and rolling forecasts.
- Prepare clients for successful investor discussions and board meetings by analyzing and tracking critical KPIs.
Beyond client-facing responsibilities, you’ll also collaborate with internal teams to:
- Refine strategies to optimize and expand Pilot’s CFO Services.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Are You Our Ideal Pilot?
We’re seeking individuals who embody these qualities:
- 2-5+ years of experience in finance and strategy, ideally within investment banking, consulting, or a rapidly growing startup.
- Familiarity with the business services sector or internal finance roles at a small business (preferred, but not required).
- Mastery of Excel modeling, with the ability to own financial models end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Exceptional analytical skills, capable of processing and prioritizing large volumes of unstructured data.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts into clear frameworks and action plans.
- Unwavering attention to detail and the ability to work independently, delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
- A strong commitment to integrity in all aspects of your work.
- A highly entrepreneurial spirit, thriving in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- A proven track record of building collaborative relationships with team members, cross-functional partners, and leadership.
This remote position is open to candidates residing in the following US states: CA, GA, NY, NC, TN, TX, and WA.

The base pay range for this role in San Francisco, CA is $129,000 – $175,000. Actual offers will vary based on factors such as experience, location, and market data. Full-time positions also include equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits.
