Opportunity: Temporary People Partner

About Ro: Revolutionizing Patient Care

At Ro, we’re driven by a single mission: to empower patients to achieve their health goals through the easiest, most effective care possible. We’ve built a unique, vertically integrated platform that combines nationwide telehealth, at-home labs, and pharmacy services to provide a seamless, end-to-end healthcare experience, from initial diagnosis through ongoing support.

Since our founding in 2017, Ro has made a significant impact, helping millions of patients across every county in the US, including those in 98% of primary care deserts. Our commitment to our team and culture has also earned us recognition as a Fortune Best Workplace in New York and Healthcare for four consecutive years (2021-2024), a Best Workplace for Parents (2021-2023), and a CNBC Disruptor 50 (2022).

The Opportunity: Make an Impact as a Temporary People Partner

Are you an experienced People Partner looking for a high-impact, temporary role within a dynamic and mission-driven healthcare company? This 6-month contract position offers a unique chance to join Ro and play a critical role in supporting key teams, including Communications, Brand, Growth, Finance, and Legal.

In this role, you will quickly embed yourself, build trust with leaders and team members, navigate a fast-paced environment, and drive essential HR support and people program execution. You’ll be instrumental in fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture, ensuring our people strategies align with business objectives and contribute directly to Ro’s success.

What You’ll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities

As a Temporary People Partner at Ro, you will:

  • Serve as a primary and strategic HR partner to leaders within your assigned client groups (Communications, Brand, Growth, Finance, Legal), ensuring people strategies are tightly integrated with business goals.
  • Lead and implement core people programs focused on enhancing employee engagement, optimizing performance enablement, fostering talent development, and supporting thoughtful organizational design.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to managers on best practices in performance management, navigating employee relations, and building high-performing teams, ensuring alignment with Ro’s principles.
  • Champion a positive workplace by proactively addressing concerns and applying policies fairly, contributing to strong employee relations.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal partners (e.g., Performance & Growth, Compensation, Recruiting, Legal) to ensure smooth execution of processes like onboarding, offboarding, and role transitions.
  • Actively support and guide leaders through periods of organizational change, growth, and restructuring.
  • Utilize people data and trends to identify opportunities and develop proactive, data-driven solutions.
  • Embody and champion Ro’s core values and culture, promoting an environment that is inclusive, compliant, and connected.

What You’ll Bring to the Team: Qualifications

We’re looking for a skilled and agile People Partner who possesses:

  • At least 5-7 years of progressive People / HR experience, with a minimum of 4 years operating specifically as an HR Business Partner in a fast-growing organization.
  • A proven track record of quickly establishing trust-based partnerships with business leaders and effectively influencing outcomes across various levels.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and performance enablement. You are known for exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing organizational change, including developing timelines, communications, and scenario planning.
  • The ability to thrive in ambiguity, take full ownership of your work, and execute effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A blend of strategic thinking and a pragmatic, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach – no task is too small.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, both written and verbal, equally effective in one-on-one interactions and broader communications.
  • Working knowledge of relevant employment law.
  • *Bonus:* Experience supporting diverse workforce segments, such as both hourly and salaried employees.

Why Join Ro? Perks & Benefits

Joining Ro means being part of a company that invests in its people. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being:

  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance (effective on your 90th day) paired with a OneMedical membership.
  • 401(k) plan with a company match to support your future.
  • Pet Insurance because your furry (or not-so-furry) friends are family too!
  • Access to Virtual Resources for mindfulness and fitness to help you stay balanced.

Compensation

The target base salary range for this Temporary People Partner position is $115,000 to $135,000 (annualized). Please note that the final compensation offered may vary within this range based on several factors, including your location, specific job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Ro values the power of in-person connection and collaboration while also fully supporting the flexibility of working remotely anywhere within the United States. For team members located in the New York tri-state area, we gather at our HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those outside the tri-state area, you will have opportunities to join in-person collaborations, such as team on-sites, throughout the year.

At Ro, we firmly believe that our diverse perspectives are not just a strength, but the driving force behind creating real change in healthcare. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to providing equal opportunity in all aspects of employment.
