Discover Your Role: Pre-sales Engineer, DACH Region

Are you an experienced technical professional passionate about showcasing innovative software solutions? We are looking for a dynamic Pre-sales Engineer to strengthen our EMEA pre-sales team, focusing on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This role is your opportunity to be the trusted technical voice, partnering closely with our sales team, clients, and partners to accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge ABBYY technologies.

As a crucial link in the sales cycle, you will deliver compelling technical demonstrations, design robust solution architectures, and lead impactful proof-of-concepts (POCs). Your mission will be to clearly articulate how ABBYY’s portfolio addresses our customers’ critical business objectives and process challenges, driving significant digital transformation.

Success in this role requires native-level fluency in German to effectively engage with our key enterprise clients in the region, coupled with strong English skills for seamless collaboration with our diverse global internal teams.

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor supporting Account Executives throughout the sales cycle in the DACH market.
• Conduct in-depth discovery sessions and workshops to deeply understand customer business processes and pinpoint opportunities for automation and digital improvement.
• Craft and deliver highly persuasive product presentations and live demonstrations tailored to specific customer needs and use cases.
• Lead the scoping, creation, and execution of proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilots, and solution architectures that seamlessly integrate with enterprise IT environments.
• Develop comprehensive and compelling responses to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to ensure smooth post-sale transitions and customer success.
• Cultivate and maintain expert-level knowledge (SME) of ABBYY’s entire solution suite, clearly articulating and demonstrating the value proposition.
• Provide essential technical assistance to partners and clients, including troubleshooting, project development, and scripting within the context of ABBYY solutions.

What You Bring: Essential Skills & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience of 3–5 years in pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical consulting, ideally within the enterprise software, automation, or content intelligence sectors.
• Native-level German language proficiency is mandatory. Strong English skills are essential for internal and cross-functional communication.
• Demonstrated success in customer-facing roles, particularly engaging with enterprise clients in complex or consultative sales environments.
• Exceptional presentation and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate both the technical advantages and the compelling business value of ABBYY solutions.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, SDKs, and common enterprise IT architectures (ERP, ECM, BPM, RPA).
• Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript or C# .Net.
• Knowledge or experience with RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) or broader process automation tools is a significant advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a consultative mindset, and the ability to translate technical details into business benefits.
• Willingness to travel across the DACH region as required by business needs.
• Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative global remote team.
• Resilience and effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and navigating demanding situations.
