The Opportunity: Your Role in the TED Ecosystem
As a Product Designer, you’ll be a key player in our product trio (product, design, engineering), collaborating on innovative solutions across TED.com, the TED app, and other digital platforms. You’ll have the opportunity to own the end-to-end design of new features and flows, directly impacting how millions discover and engage with TED’s content. We are looking for someone who is ready to elevate to a Senior Product Designer role.
What You’ll Do: A Design-Driven Journey
- Design & Iterate: Craft user-centered designs from initial concept to final execution, including user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to bring ideas to life through design sprints, critiques, and reviews.
- Research & Understand: Conduct user research to gain insights into user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute & Enhance: Help evolve TED’s design system, pushing our visual language and interaction patterns forward while maintaining a high standard for accessibility.
- Champion User-Centered Design: Advocate for user-centered design thinking across the organization, ensuring clarity and exceptional craft.
What You’ll Bring: Your Skills and Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in product design.
- BA or certificate in digital product design, graphic design, user experience, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your product thinking, interaction design, and visual design capabilities.
- Proficiency in core design disciplines: interaction design, visual design, IA, responsive layout.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A solid understanding of design research methodologies and user testing.
- Familiarity with design systems and contemporary design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro).
- Track record of leveraging design systems with proficiency in contemporary digital product design tools and technologies; this could include Figma, Miro, Webflow, HTML, and CSS.
Bonus points if you have experience with HTML/CSS, Webflow, motion design, accessibility standards, or content-driven platforms.

Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000
This role can be based in TEDโs Manhattan office, though we will also consider candidates who would work remotely. The candidate will be required to work U.S. East Coast hours.
