About the Opportunity: Product Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our Business Strategy team. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind developing and managing cutting-edge product and service offerings within critical areas like Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Energy Efficiency, Decarbonization, and Energy Codes & Standards. You will lead the lifecycle for both new and existing products, ensuring they meet market needs and deliver significant impact for our clients and the environment.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

As a Product Manager, your daily work will involve leading and executing strategies that shape our service offerings. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing expert product management leadership, overseeing the evaluation, development, scaling, and ongoing management of our product portfolio designed for utility clients.
• Leading the end-to-end development lifecycle for new product concepts, utilizing a structured stage-gate process and delivering essential outputs at each phase.
• Continuously refining and enhancing existing products based on valuable feedback from the market, potential clients, the business strategy team, and insights from our opportunity pipeline.
• Conducting deep market research and customer discovery efforts (Voice of Customer) to understand market drivers, trends, and necessary capabilities, ensuring a strong product-market fit.
• Defining high-level business requirements for product features and functionality, collaborating closely with practice area leadership and our software development team when needed.
• Supporting business development efforts to secure pilots for new and existing products, focusing on Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
• Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and update compelling product collateral.
• Prioritizing product development needs, owning the product roadmaps, and coordinating with stakeholders to drive innovation forward.
• Partnering effectively with implementation teams to successfully socialize, launch, and test new services with both existing and new clients.

Qualifications We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related, STEM, or environmental discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a related role, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
• Proven experience or comprehensive training in product management, including defining and delivering on a long-term product vision.
• Demonstrated capability in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and Voice of Customer (VoC) outreach.
• Direct experience in project management, including partnership management and program design development.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management software.
• The ability to effectively balance and manage multiple parallel workstreams while collaborating with various teams.
• Strong ability to work independently, taking ownership of core product management activities with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience within the energy or utility field, particularly in Demand Side Management (DSM) programs (e.g., midstream/upstream incentives) or related areas.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, with a salary range for this position between $93,000 and $115,000 annually. Beyond salary, Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax contribution plans, a generous retirement package, and participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Work Location & Remote Policy

Energy Solutions primarily operates as a remote workforce, while maintaining physical offices in six locations. Employees residing within 40 miles of an office (excluding New York) will be assigned to that location, although specific in-office attendance requirements may vary by team.
