Join Newsela’s Business Operations team as a Project Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education. As a vital member of our team, you’ll drive structured project execution across diverse departments, ensuring the successful and timely delivery of key initiatives that enhance our solutions for educators and students nationwide.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Manager of Business Operations, you will:
- Lead the creation and maintenance of crucial project documentation, including project charters, scope definitions, timelines, and resource plans.
- Collaborate closely with business partners to define, document, and optimize impactful business solutions.
- Develop detailed process models and business requirements, fostering clarity and alignment across all stakeholders.
- Proactively assess project risks, meticulously track milestones, and develop robust contingency plans for high-risk deliverables.
- Communicate project priorities, potential risks, emerging issues, and detailed schedules to leadership, empowering informed decision-making.
- Craft compelling presentation materials to facilitate strategic decision-making processes.
- Manage dependencies, resolve escalations, and take corrective actions.
- Provide clear and concise project status updates to all relevant parties.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation within JIRA and Confluence, guaranteeing transparency and traceability.

What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in project management, preferably within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented problem-solving abilities, with a genuine passion for improving processes through structured project management methodologies.
- A proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating across teams to drive impactful outcomes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to create clear requirements documentation, process flows, and project plans that foster alignment and execution.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating professionalism and adaptability when faced with ambiguity or high-profile challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, while maintaining a keen focus on delivering value.
- Experience in Education/EdTech is a plus.
- Experience with Jira and Gsuite a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $73,000 – $82,000 annually. Total compensation includes incentive stock options and a comprehensive benefits package.
