The Opportunity: Quality Assurance Lead

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Quality Assurance (QA) professional to establish and lead our testing efforts. In this foundational role, you will own the QA strategy end-to-end, ensuring the reliability and quality of our innovative AI products as we scale rapidly.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Define and implement the comprehensive QA strategy, from risk triage to implementing robust test automation frameworks.
• Design and execute a pragmatic, scalable QA process specifically tailored for a dynamic, fast-moving early-stage team.
• Establish and champion the quality standards required for safe and confident deployment to production, even with increased release cadences.
• Maximize efficiency through extensive automation testing, including integration testing, E2E testing, and regression testing across our Django (Python) and NextJS (React/JavaScript) full-stack environment.
• Explore and integrate the power of AI into QA workflows, applying methods for areas like test case generation, output diffing, log analysis, and novel approaches.
• Collaborate closely with product engineers and prototypers, effectively balancing the need for speed and innovation with stability and quality.

Who You Are & What You Bring

You are a seasoned QA expert with a passion for building quality systems from the ground up in fast-paced environments. You thrive on ownership and understand how to pragmatically prioritize testing efforts based on risk and velocity.

You might be a perfect fit if you have:

• Demonstrated experience successfully establishing QA functions or frameworks within early-stage teams or startups.
• A strong understanding of risk-based testing and how to balance quality gates with rapid iteration cycles.
• Fluency with modern QA tooling and automation frameworks such as Playwright, Pytest, Cypress, or similar.
• Comfort and capability working across a full-stack environment, interacting with backend APIs, front-end UIs, and asynchronous jobs.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally with GitHub Actions or similar platforms.
• A genuine curiosity about or direct experience applying AI to accelerate QA, utilizing techniques like LLMs for test generation, snapshot reviews, or sophisticated fault detection.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, effectively partnering with engineers and product leadership.

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience testing complex AI-based or ML-driven products.
• Prior experience thriving in a startup or similarly dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Python testing tools like pytest, factory_boy, or coverage.py.
• Experience writing or reviewing testable frontend components in React/NextJS.
