As a QA Engineer (Data), you’ll contribute to a team dedicated to helping businesses get paid efficiently and effectively.

The Opportunity: Your Impact as a Data QA Expert

As our QA Engineer (Data), you’ll be pivotal in validating the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data within our Payments vertical. This role requires advanced SQL skills and a keen focus on validating ETL processes, data transformations, and reporting quality across data pipelines and warehouses. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia, provided you have full working rights.

Key Responsibilities: Driving Data Quality

• Validate data accuracy and transformation logic across systems using advanced SQL queries.
• Develop and enhance QA automation frameworks for data testing, shaping best practices.
• Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and other QAs to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Mentor junior QA team members, providing technical guidance on BI testing.
• Contribute to refining QA frameworks, standards, and automation strategies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to guide QA planning and validate data quality.

What You’ll Bring: Skills & Experience

• Proven QA experience in BI, data warehouse, or analytics testing.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with large datasets.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Strong experience in test automation for data, ideally building frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools like Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of API testing (e.g., Postman).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A testing mindset, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, distributed environments.

Bonus Points: Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Exposure to data quality frameworks/tools (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
• ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification.
