The Opportunity: Senior Counsel, Audience Measurement
As Senior Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Nielsen’s Audience Measurement business. You will work on a diverse range of agreements, including product, alliance, supplier, and commercial sales agreements. This includes everything from master service agreements to statements of work, all relating to data, information, licensing, technology, market research, and software services. You’ll advise our product, data, technology, and commercial teams, helping them navigate the complex legal landscape of the media industry.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial contracts, including inbound and outbound licenses, master service agreements, statements of work, data supplier and integration agreements, technology services agreements, supplier agreements, and NDAs.
- Provide legal support for product development, distribution, and sales, translating complex legal, business, and technical concepts into practical legal advice.
- Offer business-oriented legal guidance and contract interpretation to internal teams.
- Develop and implement legal templates, playbooks, and best practices to streamline contract processes.
- Manage and resolve contract disputes and provide support for litigation matters as needed.
- Assist in the development and delivery of legal training to internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, including experience in digital media, digital advertising, ad tech, data analytics, or technology, either at a law firm or in-house.
- Proven experience negotiating complex contracts related to online media, consumer data, market research, data products, and/or software.
- Solid understanding of online, internet, and mobile communications and connected devices (e.g., IP protocol/addresses, device identifiers, cookies, content/ad delivery, APIs, SDKs).
- Working knowledge of intellectual property law and data privacy law as they relate to consumer data.
- Juris Doctor degree and excellent academic credentials.
- Exceptional contract drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to constructive feedback.

The salary range for this role is between $150,000 to $220,000 depending on experience and geographic location.
