Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced time series forecasting models for industrial operations and equipment performance prediction.
- Analyze large-scale sensor data, SCADA systems, and historical logs to uncover actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and optimization.
- Develop and maintain robust statistical and machine learning models, emphasizing scalability, cloud performance, and reproducibility in a production setting.
- Design and build optimized ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, integrating diverse data sources into cloud data lakes (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Gen2).
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data engineers, domain experts, and business stakeholders to translate data insights into tangible business value.
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and SQL for clear and concise business-facing reporting.
- Integrate data services and models into existing enterprise systems through well-defined APIs.
- Apply data modeling best practices and perform rigorous model performance tuning to ensure optimal performance in a production-grade environment.
- Utilize Git/GitHub for version control, CI/CD integration, and seamless collaborative workflows.
Required Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with the following qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science, with a minimum of 2 years specifically within the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Proven hands-on experience with time series forecasting, anomaly detection, and signal processing techniques.
- Deep proficiency in Python and related data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
- Strong experience with SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and big data tools (e.g., Spark).
- Demonstrated experience building and managing ETL pipelines, cloud data storage, and data lake architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with vCloud environments and cloud-native data processing tools.
- Familiarity with DAX and M query language for Power BI development.
- Prior experience working with IoT sensor data, SCADA systems, or oilfield production data.
- Knowledge of physics-informed ML or hybrid modeling approaches.
- Experience working on mission-critical, high-complexity industrial analytics projects.
Orion Innovation is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
